As a registered dietitian, I'm always encouraging my clients to take a proactive approach to their health. Recently, my fiancé and I decided to take some of our own advice and get a closer look at what was happening inside our bodies with Superpower. Here's what we learned and why I loved the experience.
If you've been curious about taking a deeper look at your health, Superpower is a great place to start. You can explore their comprehensive biomarker testing and personalized health insights through my referral link.

Why We Decided to Try Superpower
If you know me, you know I'm passionate about understanding the why behind how we feel. Whether it's energy levels, hormonal health, metabolism, or overall wellness, I believe there's so much value in understanding what's happening inside our bodies rather than waiting until something feels wrong.
As a registered dietitian, I regularly review lab work with clients and use that information alongside their symptoms, lifestyle, nutrition, and health history to help create individualized recommendations.
But here's the thing: even as a healthcare professional, I know that navigating lab work can feel overwhelming. There are so many biomarkers, reference ranges, and numbers to interpret, and it's not always clear what to actually do with that information.
That's one of the reasons my fiancé and I were excited to try Superpower, a health platform designed to make comprehensive blood testing and personalized health insights more accessible and easier to understand.
We're both pretty intentional about prioritizing our health, so we thought this would be a fun opportunity to learn more about our bodies and identify any areas that might deserve a little extra attention.
The Process Was Surprisingly Easy
One of the first things that stood out to me about Superpower was how straightforward the entire experience was.
Getting lab work done can sometimes feel like a process involving multiple appointments, phone calls, and waiting around for results. Our experience with Superpower was refreshingly simple.
After completing our blood draws, all we had to do was wait for our results to become available in our individual online portals.
Just three days after our blood draws, our results were published!
I was genuinely impressed by how quickly we were able to access everything. There was no chasing down results, trying to track down paperwork, or deciphering a complicated lab report.
Everything was organized in one place, and the platform made it incredibly easy to navigate through our results.
Our Health Scores: A Little Friendly Competition
One of the most fun parts of the experience was receiving our individual Superpower health scores.
Superpower gives you an overall score out of 100, making it easier to get a snapshot of your health information without feeling overwhelmed by dozens of individual biomarkers.
My fiancé scored an 89, and I scored an 86!
Naturally, this turned into a little friendly competition between the two of us. And yes, he was pretty proud of his three-point lead!
As a dietitian, I know that health is much more complex than a single number, but I really appreciated how Superpower presented our results in such an approachable way.
The score was a fun starting point, but what I found even more valuable was being able to dig deeper into the individual biomarkers and understand what might deserve a little extra attention.
And just because someone has a higher score doesn't necessarily mean they're healthier overall. These scores are a tool for organizing information, not a definitive measure of health.
What My Results Actually Showed
One thing I really appreciated about this experience was that even though I consider myself a healthy, active person who prioritizes nutrition and exercise, there were still a few things I learned from my results.
Overall, many of my markers were reassuring, including those related to blood counts, kidney function, liver health, glucose regulation, inflammation, and several hormone measurements.
However, two areas stood out to me: my cholesterol-related markers and elevated total testosterone.
These were interesting findings because they reinforced something I talk about with clients all the time: you can prioritize your health, exercise consistently, and eat a balanced diet while still having biomarkers that deserve further attention.
Our health is influenced by so much more than what we eat or how often we exercise. Genetics, hormonal factors, lifestyle, and medical history can all play a role.
For example, elevated testosterone in women can have several possible explanations and needs to be interpreted alongside symptoms, menstrual history, and other hormone measurements. Similarly, cholesterol-related markers are most meaningful when considered alongside your complete lipid profile and overall cardiovascular risk.
One of my biggest takeaways? Being healthy doesn't mean every single lab value will be perfect.
And that's okay! The goal isn't to obsess over every number. It's to understand what those numbers mean in the context of your overall health and determine whether any follow-up is appropriate.
Lab Results That Actually Make Sense
This was probably my favorite part of the entire experience.
Traditional lab reports aren't always written with the everyday consumer in mind. You might see a biomarker flagged as high or low without much explanation of what it measures, why it matters, or what factors might influence it.
Superpower does a great job of making that information easier to digest.
Through the online portal, we could review our biomarkers, explore what the different measurements meant, and better understand how they might relate to our overall health.
I particularly appreciated how user-friendly the explanations were.
You don't need to be a dietitian or have a medical background to navigate your results.
That matters to me because I believe health information should be empowering, not intimidating.
One thing I always emphasize with my clients is that lab results need context. A value outside a reference range doesn't automatically mean something is wrong, and a value within range doesn't necessarily explain every symptom.
But having access to information that's clearly organized and explained can make conversations with your healthcare team so much more productive.
More Than Just Numbers: Personalized Protocols
Another feature that stood out to me was that Superpower doesn't stop at providing lab results.
The platform also offers personalized protocols and recommendations based on your health information.
This is something I really appreciate because information is only valuable when you know how to use it.
It's one thing to learn about your biomarkers. It's another to understand which habits and lifestyle factors may be worth paying attention to.
I love that Superpower helps bridge that gap by giving users actionable information to consider after reviewing their results.
From my perspective as a dietitian, these recommendations can be a helpful starting point for identifying opportunities to support your health through nutrition, movement, sleep, and other lifestyle habits.
I also appreciate that the platform makes it easier to connect the dots between different areas of health rather than looking at every biomarker in isolation.
Of course, personalized protocols aren't a replacement for individualized medical care. I always recommend reviewing supplement recommendations, significant dietary changes, or abnormal lab findings with a qualified healthcare professional before making changes.
But I think having a starting point is incredibly helpful, especially for someone who might otherwise receive their results and have no idea what to do next.
Why I Love the Idea of Being Proactive With Your Health
Something I talk about frequently in my practice is the importance of being proactive rather than reactive with our health.
So often, we wait until we're exhausted, experiencing symptoms, or struggling with something before we start asking questions about our health.
While comprehensive lab testing isn't necessary for everyone, I do think there's value in becoming more informed about your personal health, especially when that information is interpreted appropriately.
And I love the idea of making health something you can prioritize together as a couple.
My fiancé and I both have our own routines, nutrition habits, and wellness goals, so it was interesting to go through the same experience and see our individual results.
It was also a reminder that health is incredibly individualized. What makes sense for one person may not be what another person needs, even when you share a household and similar habits.
For me, the biggest benefit wasn't necessarily learning that my score was an 86. It was having a clearer picture of which areas looked reassuring and which ones might be worth discussing with my healthcare provider.
My Takeaway as a Registered Dietitian
Overall, I was really impressed with how seamless our experience with Superpower was.
Between the easy process, quick turnaround time, organized online portal, easy-to-understand explanations, and personalized protocols, the entire experience felt approachable from start to finish.
As a dietitian, I especially appreciate platforms that help people become more engaged in their health without making the information unnecessarily complicated.
I don't believe we need to obsess over every biomarker or chase a perfect health score. And I certainly don't think that more testing automatically equals better health.
But I do believe that understanding your health information can help you ask better questions, have more informed conversations with your healthcare providers, and make thoughtful decisions about your lifestyle.
Another feature worth mentioning is that Superpower offers a supplement and medication marketplace, giving users access to additional health and wellness options beyond lab testing. As of October 30, the platform also introduced peptide pre-order access. While I haven't personally explored these offerings, I appreciate that Superpower is continuing to expand its services. As always, I encourage working with a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, medication, or peptide therapy to ensure it's appropriate for your individual needs.
Even with an 86 out of 100, I walked away with a few new things to explore, which reminded me that prioritizing your health isn't about achieving perfect numbers. It's about understanding your body and making informed decisions.
For me, that's the biggest benefit of an experience like Superpower: taking information that can feel complicated and making it easier to understand and act on.
If you're ready to take a more proactive approach to understanding your health, I encourage you to explore Superpower for yourself. You can get started using my referral link and begin uncovering what your biomarkers can tell you about your health.
